PRE-VENT®
Horse
Feeders
We are excited to
introduce a
revolutionary new design
in horse feeders that
will make other
horse feeders
obsolete! Did you know
that most horse feeders on the
market today were
designed for man’s
convenience and not for
your horses’ health?
PRE-VENT® horse feeders
specifically address the
most common feeding
problems:
Choke,
Sand
Ingestion, and
Feed Waste.

veterinarians
and others
are saying about
PRE-VENT Horse
Feeders.
Esophageal Obstruction
in Horses – AKA “Choke”
“Choke” in horses is an
obstruction of the
esophagus. Because of
the acute angle of the
esophagus, it is
virtually impossible for
a horse to regurgitate
its feed. The steep
angle in the stomach
causes trouble if food
lodges there. When a
horse suffers a complete
blockage, he is in
danger of aspirating
saliva and feed into his
windpipe and lungs,
which can lead to
aspiration pneumonia.
This condition is almost
always fatal.
Does your horse suffer
from chronic
Choke? Long
term effects due to
repeated incidents of
Choke can cause the
buildup of scar tissue,
eventually resulting in
a narrowing of the
esophagus – which can
lead more frightening
episodes of
CHOKE.
The PRE-VENT®
horse feeder was
developed to slow the
horses’ rate of feed
consumption by forcing
the horse to concentrate
on eating. By only being
able to retrieve a few
pellets at a time, this
engages the “thinking”
side of his brain. The
horse begins to use
his tongue and lips and
relaxes while eating.
Feeding time no longer
becomes a “speed event.”
This prevents the horse
from gulping or
“bolting” his feed and
developing an
obstruction in his
esophagus.
Sand
Colic is the
outcome of the
accumulation of
sand
ingestion
and accumulation in
the intestinal tract of
a horse. Horses cannot
avoid accidentally
ingesting some amounts
of sand – it is EVERYWHERE
and can easily build up
over time. There can be
up to 150 pounds of sand
accumulation in the
lower portion of the
large intestine.
PRE-VENT® horse feeders
prevents
sand
ingestion by
keeping feed from
falling on the ground,
which help to keep your
horse from retrieving
not only dropped feed
left on
the ground using
traditional
horse feeders, but
also parasites, dirt and
most importantly – SAND!

Feed Waste
Eating from
traditional
horse feeders,
excessive
feed waste can
occur, as a horse will
attempt to ingest as
much feed as possible
while turning his head
to see what is around
him. Horse feed and
supplements will fall
from the horse’s mouth
to the ground, resulting
in feed waste.
Tired of watching your
horse drop expensive
horse feed and supplements
onto the ground?
PRE-VENT® horse feeders help to
eliminate costly feed
and supplement waste by
keeping your horses’
head where it should be
– down in the
horse feeder!
PRE-VENT® horse feeders
minimize waste by
keeping your horse
engaged in the eating
process – eating in a
slower, calmer more
natural manner.
A PRE-VENT®
horse feeder
will pay for itself in
no time by drastically
reducing feed waste!
We at PRE-VENT®
Feeders have
determined a method to
calculate the amount of
feed/cost ratio.
Depending on how many
horses you feed and how
much you spend on feed
and supplements, we’ve
made it easy to
calculate how much
feed/money is being
wasted. See our
feed/waste
calculator to
see how much money you
are losing in
horse feed
waste.

Why is it so effective?
Through many years of
research, we at PRE-VENT®
have figured out a
simple solution to solve
many common feeding
problems.
PRE-VENT®
horse feeders were designed to
engage the horses left
brain (thinking side) as
opposed to the right
side (reactive side).
Horses eating from
traditional horse feeders are
using the right side of
their brain, which
causes them to act
instinctively, without
thinking, just as they
would operate in the
wild.
