 PRE-VENT® Feeder Testimonials

Here's what the experts have to say....

Hi

My horse's issue is that he is very nosey when he eats, and he's a little on the greedy side when it comes feeding time, he gets so much grain in his mouth he can't possibly keep it all in there and he has a tendency to check everything out while he's trying to eat and he loses feed all over inside and out, then tries to eat it off the ground, we've tried big stones in the feed bucket he pushes them right out, we tried pans on the floor he just slings feed all over or flips it. Then one morning he had a case of colic, thankfully our vet was very prompt and got him through it.  I feel some of the colic may have been caused from eating the grain he spilled on the stall floor and what ever else he picked up with the grain, dirt and other debris, not sure but I really did not want to go thru that again and I doubt he did either.  I saw your feeder advertised on Craig Cameron's show on RFD tv and thought I'd give it a try I figured it couldn't hurt I tried everything else.  I must say I am very happy with the results  it has definitely helped, the compartments make him "work" to eat, it keeps him from slinging and dropping his food all over and it slowed him down so that he couldn't over fill his mouth.  I would absolutely recommend this feeder to anyone who is having feeding issues. I was glad I caught your ad!

Sincerely
Christine Christian

Little Richard is a horrible eater; gorges, slings feed, etc., so after much frustration, I decided to surf the internet and I found this cool feeder bucket. The inventor, Kris is going to donate one to PER, so hopefully this will help cut down on feed waste and make meal time more enjoyable for Richard. Diane

Check out the website: www.pre-ventfeeders.com

Update:   Great News! We received the feeder and it works very well! At the first feeding, Little Richard was a little frustrated because he couldn't just "dive in" like he normally does, but after that, he was a lot calmer when I poured the feed and took his time eating. There was very little waste, except for just a few pellets that dropped from his mouth at the very beginning, because he looks around after the first nibble (probably from having to fight for his feed sometime in his past). But once he starts eating, he keeps his head down in the bucket and concentrates on using his lips and tongue to get out every morsel. He closes his eyes and remains calm. I think the size of the feeder really helps keep his stress level down. And we keep it low, so he can eat as if he is grazing in a natural position. This feeder would work well for horses that are prone to choke, as it really slows down their eating! We recently moved Little Richard to a foster home and we made sure that his Pre-Vent Feeder went with him!

Thank  you, Kris Schehr  for donating this wonderful product to the rescue!

I absolutely love my PRE-VENT feeders. I have been using them since March 2010. The first time I fed my mare out of the feeder I fed her on a concrete pad and was amazed that the all so familiar sound of pellets falling from her mouth was absent. My horses no longer spend half their feeding time sifting through the sand around their buckets looking for wayward morsels. When their PRE-VENT feeders are empty, they walk away (I must admit that my dogs are not nearly as impressed as they no longer feel needed to 'help' clean up the stray pellets). I am a true believer in only recommending products I have used myself before I recommend them to my clients. I regularly recommend PRE-VENT feeders to my clients including Houston Police Department's Mounted Patrol, it has taken some budgeting but they now use them for every horse. I recently treated a horse for choke that had been using the PRE-VENT feeder since an episode of choke two months prior. Unfortunately, the owner of the horse was in a hurry to get to an event and fed the horse from a bucket so she could tack her horse while it ate. Needless to say, because the horse choked she was not able to make it to the event. This horse owner now knows how valuable her PRE-VENT feeder is! Thank you for a great product.

The PRE-VENT Feeders are very durable and easy to use. I like the natural reinforcement of a horse’s grazing tendencies by slowing down their consumption of grain based feeds. It keeps their heads in the proper position for a grazing animal. They are a great solution to the overly aggressive eater. I look forward to using more of them.

We have been using the PRE-VENT Feeder for 60 days and are impressed with how well the horse adapts to the design. It has reduced the amount of grain dropped in the shavings and on the ground by aggressive eaters and horses with dental problems. I anticipate this feeder being the solution to slowing down aggressive eaters and preventing problems in horses with frequent esophageal obstructions and sand ingestion.

And here's what our customers are saying.....

I purchased your PRE-VENT Feeder because my horse would rush and gulp down his grain …  I went online and as soon as I found your feeder, I ordered it. Problem solved!

We purchased our PRE-VENT Feeder due to our mare's overeating, and eating too fast. She's a very easy keeper, and when we feed her the small amount she needs, she would "wolf" it down, and then try to chase our other horse off of his feed. The feeder has greatly slowed down her speed of cleaning her plate, and she seems to be more satisfied after her meal. Now it takes her as long to eat as our other horse, which has stopped "food fights." I thank you and your company for developing the feeder.

I purchased the PRE-VENT Feeder because my Appaloosa, Jake, used to take big mouthfuls of food, and then pick his head up and look quickly all around, wasting his grain everywhere..  He also finished his bucket of grain very fast.  The feeder has helped tremendously with this.  Jake now takes his time, keeping his head down, while focusing on retrieving the grain from the feeder.  I am so happy I made this purchase.  Thank you, PRE-VENT!

My horse Titan would throw grain out of his corner feeder all over the stall. I would have to sweep it up and feed him on the stall mat, even then he would paw the ground throwing feed into his shavings. Now he loves the PRE-VENT Feeder, he's very calm and relaxed eating out of it. I don't have to worry about him getting ALL of his feed anymore! I would definitely recommend this feeder!!"

We have a 20+ stall farm, horses and ponies, all are eating out of the PRE-VENT Feeder and ALL of them have taken to the feeder quickly! Prior to installing the feeder, we were concerned about the horses not getting their supplements and losing feed due to tossing it out of feed bin. We have a few problem eaters and the problems have subsided. They are easy to clean, install and the horses love them! I would recommend them to ALL horse owners! You will be very pleased.

I would definitely recommend the PRE-VENT Feeder to anyone who has horses that bolt and drop their feed. These feeders definitely save money on wasted feed!

The PRE-VENT Feeder slowed my horses feeding time down, they used to eat WAY too fast, and I've noticed a lot less waste. I would definitely recommend these feeders!

The PRE-VENT Feeders I've purchased are working real well with my 2 sloppy eaters.  They keep my horses heads down in the feeder while eating.  I go on hunts in Mexico, and don't want my horses eating sand down there so I plan to bring my PRE-VENT Feeders with me. I will be purchasing 4 more for rest of my horses.

The PRE-VENT Feeders have been such a wonderful addition to our feeding program. My boys are fed together in the evening and one is a vacuum cleaner and the other takes his time to enjoy each bite. With the PRE-VENT Feeders they can now both take their time and enjoy their food without any dropping, tipping over, or gorging. Also there is less commotion in the pasture because it takes them both the same amount of time to finish. The sand intake of both my boys was out of this world – since the feeders they don't eat out of the dirt anymore!

I have been using the PRE-VENT Feeders for about 2 months and it has really been a great product. It slows the eating process down and they really focus more on the feed and keep their head down inside the bucket so they are no longer dropping feed on the ground. I would highly recommend all horse owners to use these feeders. The best quality feed bucket on the market, hands down!

We bought a feeder at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. It is by far the best product we have purchased. Our 18 year old mare had a terrible habit of slinging her food everywhere after every bite, then consuming the rest off the sandy ground. She had been eating like that her entire life. Her feeding time literally took only a few minutes…it was horrible. THEN we bought the PRE-VENT Feeder. WOW! She keeps her head down until she is completely finished. No food is on the ground and she takes about 3-4 times as long to eat. So she is eating at a good pace, not slinging food, and not ingesting sand. Oh, and all of this happened the first time she used the feeder and has happened daily since. We literally stood and watched her in amazement the first time we used it. We are sold on this product, and would recommend it to anyone!

My two horses Amos & Domino have been eating from the PRE-VENT Feeders for five months now. What a difference it makes! There is no wasted feed or expensive supplements that get scattered or dropped on the ground. My horses keep their heads down while they busily eat their grain, moving to all the various compartments just like they are in the pasture grazing. Domino, my 16 year old spotted saddle horse, who is a horrible cribber, used to pace back and forth chewing on fences during feeding time dropping grain, now stays at his feeder concentrating on eating his grain. Their eating time has slowed and there’s no pushing or shoving at the feeders. Since they aren’t dropping grain on the ground, their intake of sand has dramatically decreased eliminating the risk of sand colic. I’m very happy and so are my horses!!

I have two very greedy and pushy horses named Lincoln and Handsome. The day I began using the PRE-VENT Feeders I was overjoyed! Not only do I have peace of mind now that my horses are no longer eating waste off the sandy pasture, they are eating slower and not wasting their feed. Another huge benefit using the PRE-VENT Feeders, is that I’ve noticed we finally have peace in the pasture. My dominant gelding is no longer pushing my other horse off his feed because he is actually concentrating on finishing his own feed, they usually finish around the same time. Thank you so much PRE-VENT for making feeding time a peaceful, pleasant experience!

My name is Cynthia. I am not a horse trainer or breeder, nor do I compete. I am simply a hacker who happens to love my horses. I own an Arabian mare as well as an American Cream gelding who are both nearing 30 yrs. My gelding, Bear, choked this past summer after bolting his pelleted feed. It was one of the worst experiences of my life - talk about feeling helpless. The wait for the vet was seemingly hours long. Bear was ok after treatment and rocks in his corner feeder was the proposed solution. It worked, but just didn't seem good enough and I was still worried especially since Bear got smart and would simply push the rocks to one corner and then take a great big mouthful. So, I searched the Internet and found the Pre-Vent Feeders site and immediately ordered 2. I have had my feeders for 6 months now and am able to feed absolutely worry free! Bear's feeding time has gone from 5 minutes to 15. Though there is less feed waste, that's not what it's about for me; I can rest assured that my "Big Boy" is safe from choke.
